THE ROLE

Strategic Marketing Research Internship

Red Lantern Strategy is looking for a summer intern to join our growing marketing research and strategy firm. We work as strategic research partners for a wide range of clients including American Express, L’Oréal, and NBCU. This is a paid internship, and work schedule is negotiable. Ideal start date May-early June.


All Red Lantern employees are currently working remotely, and this would be a remote/work from home role.

 

Internship opportunities are not limited to summer; this position has the potential to transition to full-time for the right candidate!

QUALITIES WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills

  • Attentive to detail (including grammar and punctuation)

  • Passionate and curious about why people do what they do, how brands interact and communicate with their customers, and how businesses can be stronger with a better understanding of consumers

  • Strong interest in consumer insights, market research, brand strategy and strategic planning

  • Outgoing and confident initiating conversation with research participants and clients

  • Able to work independently

  • Able to work on a Mac

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required

  • Comfortable learning and using new online platforms and technologies

  • Graphic design and/or video production skills are a strong plus, but not required

  • Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree, or working towards Bachelor’s degree (completed junior year preferred), and/or work experience in market research, business, marketing, brand strategy or adjacent field

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Conducting quantitative and qualitative data analysis, including online discussion boards

  • Taking detailed notes in qualitative research sessions (e.g., focus groups, one-on-one interviews)

  • Assistance with online desk research

  • Assisting with development of proposals and presentations in MS PowerPoint

  • Identifying verbatim quotes for research debriefs and video deliverables

  • Occasional assistance with project management tasks such reviewing research participant profiles, reaching out to vendors for bids, scheduling interviews, etc.

  • Occasional administrative tasks such as shipping or printing research stimuli

WHAT YOU’LL GET

  • A crash course in the marketing research business and diverse client experience across B2B and B2C industries

  • Exposure to qualitative and quantitative research methods as well as research design, proposal and report development

  • The opportunity to work directly with senior-level research and strategy experts

  • Experience working in a faced-paced small business environment
